Lacrosse Helmet Safety Policy:

Lacey Pride Lacrosse Club (LPLC) will has a mandatory helmet safety policy.  Player safety is a top priority for LPLC and its coaches.  Safety equipment, particularly helmets, play a critical role in keeping players safe and protecting your player from injury.  This policy exists to ensure LPLC is doing its part in protecting our players.  The LPLC policy is in accordance with our governing body, US Lacrosse and the helmet manufacturers safety guidelines.

If your player’s helmet, for any reason, does not meet the policy requirements they will not be allowed to play.  Once compliance with the helmet policy has been satisfied your player can participate.

Policy

New helmets will have current year manufacture date sticker on helmet.  These helmets are safe for use for that year.  For example, a helmet manufactured in 2017 is safe for use for the 2017 season.

Older helmets, ones that do not have a manufacture date of current season, must meet the Manufacture’s recertification guidelines to be safe for use (see below).  For example, a Cascade helmet manufactured in 2016 must have a recertification sticker with a 2017 date in order to be safe for use in 2017.  Any helmet that has been manufactured in 2017 will not need a recertification sticker.

LPLC will coordinate recertification by a NAERA partner prior to the start of each season, usually December.  The actual cost of recertification will be the responsibility of each player's guardian.
